Welcome to the AfroTalk Community!

We are truly happy to have you in our community. This is forum is where real conversations, true stories, shared experiences, and African diasporic ties come together.

If you're here to chat, point out, ask, provide information, or even just to find some new buddies who get you, you're in the right community.

To make our community safe, friendly, and welcoming for everybody, we came up with a few community guidelines. Nothing very exciting—just or complicated just some rules of engagement so we can get along with each other better.

I. Respect & Inclusivity First

Be Nice. We don't have to see eye to eye on all things, but let's try to stay respectful. No name-calling, put-downs, or personal attacks.

Celebrate Differences. AfroTalk enjoys our diverse cultures, backgrounds, and viewpoints. Let us embody that and learn from each other.

Zero Tolerance for Hate. Racism, tribalism, sexism, homophobia, xenophobia, or any kind of hate speech at all is never accepted here. If it happens, then it will be addressed quickly and seriously.

Talk to Understand. Disagreeing? That’s fine! But stay focused on the topic, not the person. We’re here to grow, not to win arguments.

II. What to Post (and What Not To)

Stay Relevant. Post in the right sections and stick to the topic. Want to talk about something new? Start a fresh thread—we’d love to hear it.

No Spam, Please. AfroTalk is for real talk, not ads. Got something you'd like to advertise to the community? Reach out to a mod/admin first.

Keep It Safe and Clean. No graphic, hurtful, or unlawful content of any kind. This is a community space—let's make it accessible to all.

Give Credit. Sharing something amazing? Make sure to give credit to the original author if it's not yours.

III. Be a Great Community Member

Speak Clearly. Attempt to make your posts readable—especially to those who do not use the same slang or shorthand as you.

Take a Moment to Reread. Take a split second to scan through it quickly before you press post. It makes conversations go more smoothly and respectfully.

Respect the Mods. Our moderators work to keep things on track. If they reach out to you, realize it's with kindness in their hearts. Questions? Shoot them a message privately.

See Something Off? Help us out by reporting posts or messages that don't meet the rules. This is our community—let's keep it clean together.

IV. If Things Go Wrong

We are not here to censor, but we do care about the rules. Breaking them can get you a warning, a time-out, or in worst-case scenarios, banned. We hope it doesn't come to that—but we'll always do what's best for the community.

Let's Grow This Space Together

AfroTalk is just getting started, and you're part of what makes it unique. Tell us your stories, ask questions, challenge our points of view, support one another, and let's create something great and noble together.

So again—welcome. We look forward to hearing from you.

You are welcome here.
